Field Notes

Description:

Smaller hawk, smaller than red tailed. Brown back with lighter banded chest. Banding on underside of tail notable.

Habitat:

Suburban woodlands and farm area.

Notes:

Perched in small front yard tree. Flew off when I took the picture from my car <30 feet away.
