Field Notes

Description:

Slick looking, medium sized ants with translucent green abdomens, tan legs and thorax and green heads. Approx. 10mm long.

Habitat:

These ants might have built a nest out of live leaves pulled together in a small eucalyptus near a small shopping complex but tree nesting green ants are found throughout the tropical parts of northern Australia. <br> As an organised team this lot were moving a dead flesh fly up into a gum tree.
