Field Notes

Description:

The Siberian Husky is a medium-size, wolf-like, dense-coat working domestic dog breed belonging to the Spitz genetic family. They are highly resilient dogs, as their ancestors lived in the extremely cold and harsh environment of the Siberian Arctic. They were bred to pull heavy loads long distances by sled, while being compact in build so as to not require large amounts of food. They are a high energy and intelligent breed that form strong relationships with their "pack". They are also very observant of people and animals around them, and are known to mimic the actions and behaviors of both.

Thanks for the favorites, Emma and Jamal. ;)
I feel the second picture is a great example of a typical day for a happy husky. ;) Let's just say, it is pretty difficult to get a photo nearly that clear when capturing two huskies on a run; usually all you get is a blur.
