He almost looks like he is meditating like a monk in the pics #1 & 2. Very odd pose but cute!
Or could it be the Slug moth Thosea obliquistriga? http://www.mothsofborneo.com/part-1/limacodidae/limacodidae-23.php
ID = Nason's Slug Moth (Natada nasoni)? http://mothphotographersgroup.msstate.edu/slow.php?plate=11&page=5&size=s&sort=h
Hmm... I was thinking it might have been some kind of slug (as opposed to frog!!) moth...
Very close.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calyptra_thalictri
Such hairy vented moths are considered deadly pest in their caterpillar stage.
Yep, saw that one after I left the comment on the other one. Odd looking indeed :D Cool critters you find! :D
Must be from- Noctuidae
Yes, indeed he's balancing himself on the very edge of the blind... Doesn't look very comfortable, but he managed to stay there for just over 5 hours (even when I accidentally knocked the blind when trying to get a good angle for the photo!!)
I feel moth is doing some balancing act in first 2 pictures...these pictures give some learning about moths..!!
Annvan this strange but great feat to see such moth..Thanks for sharing...!!
Could this be a slug moth, similar to http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6942469 ...?
I've just added 2 more photos of the same moth in a... 'normal' position.
Totally... And 5 hours later he's still sitting there....
I agree Heather! He was flying like a mad, crazy thing before he landed here. Maybe he's looking for the loo (c.r./ w.c/ bathroom)... And hasn't found it yet!! :-D
That has got to be the strangest looking animal I've seen today. Strange "legs" if that is what they are...fuzzy white with black knee caps..and white tipped "elbows"???
