Field Notes

Description:

large beetle, 2 black dots on sides of pronotum and 3 black dots on side of each elytron.

Habitat:

thickets, vineyards, woods

Notes:

I spotted this beetle on the ground behind the Floral Showhouse. It was nearly dead. Not sure what happened to it but I brought it home to photograph. It was the first time I've seen this beetle.
