Field Notes

Description:

A wingless female wasp attached to a winged male. Past spottings like this always involved much smaller females than males so this was an interesting combination to watch in flight. About 25mm long overall.

Habitat:

On a small mutton-wood shrub in a local national park.

Notes:

The last pic might not be the same species as the first two and was from about 300 metres away. It looks the same to me though. Yet to search for species... <br> http://bie.ala.org.au/species/urn:lsid:biodiversity.org.au:afd.taxon:fb…
