Green Ant
14.5833, 121.167
Field Notes
Description:
I was cutting down tree branches over our roof when i happened to notice this green large ant crawling on a tree branch. This is the second time i saw this kind of species. Its size is around 2cm and much different from weaver ants. Unlike aggressive weaver ants, this ant is very tame and has much bigger and broader in its body size. This ant is very rare in our place. I recalled the first time i saw like this one was in the late 90's at our backyard and it was a pair of this kind of ant guarding their few eggs attached beneath the leaf of a coconut tree. In that pair, the other one was in light brown its body color.
Habitat:
leafy trees, humid places, tropical
