Description:

there 2 butterflies were flying around end to end. they landed long enough for me to get a shot. one is white the other pale yellow

Habitat:

temperate forest

Notes:

I spotted these in Dufferin Island, upriver from the Falls.

Thanks, they probably do belong in that family. It's a huge family but it's a start.
Try checking out the family Pieridae. I haven't had much exposure to the whites and sulfurs yet, but these two look similar: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pieridae.
