Field Notes

Description:

Lions live for ten to fourteen years in the wild, while in captivity they can live longer than twenty years. In the wild, males seldom live longer than ten years, as injuries sustained from continual fighting with rival males greatly reduce their longevity

Habitat:

These pictures where taken in a safari park in Bali, the story was that they where all orphaned or injured and this safari park does a great job to take care of these animals. and also lets people get very close to these amazing big cats.

Wow Emma thanks for the very interesting information!
. Once the lions are injured and old life can be very difficult for them in the wild. Once lionesses loose their canines ,they are largely handicapped. Karen shared a spotting of elephants and that's when I learned that once elephants get there last 6th set of teeth, they surrender to death after loosing them.
Sweeeeeet :-D
