Thanks for the information oxyjack! I will keep an eye out for them again this year!
There are some nice pics of different species of Robinia: http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.halesia.nl/images/bomen/184/Robinia-Casque-Rouge.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.imagejuicy.com/images/plants/r/robinia/5/&usg=__Ce0X6kOi7IhVKN-XmXpAr7mlV8o=&h=467&w=544&sz=55&hl=en&start=1&sig2=PcgU8uy_qs5QSv5DbmC2fw&zoom=1&tbnid=jn-eO1gQpxfuQM:&tbnh=114&tbnw=133&ei=tAJ6T8n4DYTSiAL2s-mnDg&prev=/images%3Fq%3DRobinia%2Bmargaretta%2BPink%2BCascade%26um%3D1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26sa%3DG%26rls%3Den%26tbm%3Disch&um=1&itbs=1
It's in the Fabaceae, the pea, locust and bean family. By the leaves and flowers (and seed pods), I'd guess it's a young locust tree. Probably in the genus Robinia.
