Description:

Red Tail Black Cockatoo

Habitat:

It lives in forests and open country, sometimes taking the seeds of gum nuts in trees, they particularly like the Eucalyptus nuts .

The tail of the female Red-tailed Black Cockatoo has black bars on the red patches and the head has yellow spots.

Notes:

Commonly found in and around Perth of Western Australia. They will perch on Gum and Eucalyptus tree for their nuts during late winter.

To spot them look for their nut shell mess they leave on the bottom of Gum or Eucalyptus tree.
