Field Notes

Description:

Salticidae (jumping spiders) "contains more than 500 described genera and about 5,000 described species, making it the largest family of spiders" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_spider

Habitat:

Large semi-urban yard/garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

Notes:

Very common species in my patch as seen in previous spottings, but this is the best view yet.

Try checking out the Thiania genus. It looks a lot like Thiania bhamoensis but it is not. You seems to have a similar species right here http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/6952924

Thanks both. I didn't see any references to the genus in New Guinea but I'll keep it in mind.
