Field Notes

Description:

Solitary Diurnal Mongoose. Hunts along trails and roads for invertebrates, fruit and carrion. The tip of the tail is black an they have a red nose and reddish eyes.

Notes:

We really enjoy watching the "little" things in Africa. While everyone else is trying for the Big 5, we find much more enjoyment in spotting birds and small mammals like Mongoose.
My wife always says if you don't want to share your sighting, tell the people in other cars that your looking at birds and they drive away quickly!
