Field Notes

Description:

Multi colored katydid nymph with striped antennae. There's green, orange, turquoise, black and white. Unknown which instar this is. Mexican Bush Katydid's were found in the area one month later. This may be one of them.

Habitat:

Mexican Bush Sage in backyard

Notes:

This little one was quite photogenic and even did a little turn for the video!
There's a second video, this one of a baby. Despite it being out of focus, it's a really cute video of a baby Scudder's Bush Katydid Nymph at an earlier instar http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzz10t1BXgI

I just added another video of this species; however, it's a bit out of focus. This one is of a baby :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzz10t1BXgI
I changed the description to katydid although I don't know that it's correct. Any Orthoptera experts on here?
