Great! Thank you so much for help with IDing this little guy! I really appreciate it! :-)
I found what you are looking for. I 'googled' "green collared lizards, illustrations" and located many sites. This one was the best, I thought: Species: Crotaphytus collaris Eastern Collared Lizard: http://www.wildherps.com/species/C.collaris.html Great photos...he's a handsome fella! I concur with author that they are very friendly. The one we spotted and photographed seemed to pose for us, so we could see all his best sides! This author provided a number of sites to visit and a great deal of knowledge about their looks at different ages and temperatures/times of day.
I've seen this fella! Somewhere around Blanding UT as we were out ATV-ing. Looks like he's wearing a school sweater. Amazing colors. I am sure he has an official name. Yup, suspect he's in the "collared lizard" family. I will go hunting for an I.D. Thanks for sharing.
Is it a baby or is that the normal size? Really neat picture!
