Yikes. I hope not. Several mosquitoes were found within 10 miles of here that were carrying the virus.
Oddly, there didn't seem to be any sign of violence (like from a cat or other predator).
Oh that is sad, waxwings are such beautiful birds. I'd be pretty upset at any dead animal, snake or bird or anything! I found a dead bumblebee on my way home from work and had to move him to the bushes before something squashed him
Poor birdie. :( All the road kill I see around here is squirrels, possums and groundhogs. All of them make me :(
I have a bunch of road-kill and what I call trail-kill (like this one) photos; but dead snakes don't elicit the same kind of response.
