Dark green folliage with long thorns and white flowers with 5 petals (star) that are very fragrant.

Habitat:

Planted with others as a hedge between sidewalk and shoreline of the marina in San Diego, Ca

Clair, Ceherzog is excellent on identifying almost any kind of plant. You can always rely on her to give you the right answer. I knew it as Natal Plum when I lived in Sarasota, but had forgotten the name. I always thought it was related to Jasmine, but I do not know for sure.
alice, I thought it was Jasmine too! Are they related to the Natal Plum?
ceherzoh, although I don't have any pictures with the "plums", I do recall seeing them on these plants the last time I was there. Thank you for the ID!
