Field Notes

Description:

White plumage with a faint yellow-pink tinge in breeding season. Fairly large bird, especially with neck extended, and a long beak.

Notes:

This fellar caused quite a stir in Hyde Park - pelicans do not appear there regularly! My mum volunteered this picture, which she took while in London last year.

Lol, no, never found out how it got there. Apparently, though, it does happen occasionally, like they get lost or something! People were too busy being excited about it, my mum's friend was especially going nuts, and when they saw a squirrel as well (because she's Portuguese and has never seen a squirrel before!) My mum was less impressed with that, but loved the Pelican!
This is way cool! Did they find out where it came from? Glad you got the shot (well, your Mom :D)
