Description:

Estrella de hasta 25 cm de diámetro, con un disco pequeño, brazos largos y de sección cilíndrica que se adelgazan hacia el extremo. Las espinas son pequeñas, dispuestas sin orden aparente en el dorso, pero forman filas en la parte ventral de los brazos; están hundidas en la piel y dan un aspecto reticulado al medir 1,5 mm de longitud. Presenta una espina interna y dos externan en las placas ambulacrales, oredenadas de forma transversal. Color escarlata, rojo intenso.

Habitat:

Cala Fría, Cabo de Palos (Murcia).

Wow, Isabela and I have written at the same time the same ideas.
Thank you Marten and Alice. My sister (Isabela, of Nonah) found the star, it was inside a small cave, in the rocks of the coast. We did many photos and videos, but there was no enough light and we were moving very much with the swell.
Eulalia and I were snorkeling together when we discovered this beautiful star. The colour was amazing. Alice, pity you didn't see any, it took us more than 10 days to find this.
I was hoping to find one along the Adriatic Sea, but didn't. Very nice.
