Description:

Nervous rare visitor flitting briefly from front garden verge among wild plants - Chicory and Nepeta - Butterfly family True Brushfoots - Wingspan 3.8cm-6.9cm (1.5-2.7") Brown with prominent eyespots; forewing bears a distinct white patch and two small orange bars. Below white bands (summer) brown numerous patterns.

Habitat:

Fields, roadsides, gardens - pineland.

Notes:

Abundance - Rare to occasional.

Thanks Jilly - We have an expanse of rolling woods beside the Ohio river with lots of wild-life and we have a garden supporting butterflies - We will plant more wild plants for next year - we feel very blessed in a period after a hectic work schedule.
