Field Notes

Habitat:

Low-lying areas near water

Notes:

Called the fever tree because pioneers would camp near them because of the availability of water, and many would become sick. It was thought that the yellow powdery surface caused the illness. It was later found to be Malaria, not from the tree but the mosquito bites received while camping near the water! I shot this late in the day shortly before sundown.
