Found the flower at 8000' on a north facing slope, arid conditions.

Species ID Suggestions

Yep, it's a lupine (Lupinus sp.). Could be a couple different species there, and they are sometimes hard to tell apart even when you have the plant in hand. I'd call it Lupinus sp. and leave it at that.
