Description:
Males - 425 to 548mm head and body length with a tail length of 420 to 530mm. Weight around 4.5kg. General colour varies according to type of rock on which it lives. Mostly grey-brown above, paler sandy brown-buff on underparts, forearms, hindlegs and bae of tail. Some are considerably darker. Pale cheek stripe. Tail darkens distally with a slight brush. Dirty white tail-tip of variable lenght occassionally present in some northern populations.
Females - 425 to 500mm head and body length with a tail length of 415 to 441mm. Weight around 3.8kg. Appearance similar to males.
Habitat:
The Mareeba Rock-wallaby seems to prefer more open habitat than some of the other Queensland rock-wallabies. It is most often found in rocky habitat embedded within open forest and grassy woodland and less often in the thicker vine forests
