Field Notes

Habitat:

Warm grassy land with a small stream nearby.

Notes:

This is a relatively small dragonfly, about half the length of usual dranflies. I'm not sure whether it's a youngster or of a differnet genus.

Species ID Suggestions

Blue Tailed Yellow Skimmer

Palpopleura sexmaculata (Female)

Thanks venusflytrap2000, Mark and Machi for making it favourite.
Thanks Steph, Nuwan, Reza, Marta and Noah N for making it favourite.
Thanks Sukanya for the lead. The two posts under Organisms don't match with this. Will check under other sources, including Google. Thanks anyway.
Just a guess FEMALE Palpopleura sexmaculata (looks very similar to the picture in my guidebook...but only one photo from a different angle) and Google says it IS found in Sikkim. All the best for a quick ID of this BEAUTIFUL dragonfly.
