This is a 1st winter male, it is very similar to the one I have just posted. There are quite a few sub-species of this but winter birds are difficult to separate. Females are much duller, only having traces of blue, if any.

Thank you both :) Yes, 1st winter (added that to the title) :-) I like these guys :) This one let us get so close. Whatever it was he was picking for, he was not interested in me being about 3m away from him :)
