I do not recall seeing these before, but we were way out in the forest. Is it a Texas or a Florida Spiny tail lizard? Or Fence Lizard?

Yes! Maybe a Fence Lizard? http://www.wildflorida.com/wildlife/lizards/Fence_Lizard.php
See waist portion not matching to Texas...fingers are very different..!!
It looks like the Texas spiny lizard, Mitch had a picture of one, but I do not think these are normally in Florida. Or it may be a Florida Scrub Lizard, and I so not recall seeing these. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Texas_spiny_lizard Of course it may be a subspecies?
Hope you identify...soon..!!
It can be Green Spiny Lizard or Malachite Swift (Sceloporus malachiticus)
