One new photo added, and a video I took August 2011. Just found and uploaded it! Quality is poor, but I was amused watching them feed. :)
Thanks, VivBraznell. I took loads of flamingo photos over the summer, and even still now, but these ones are my favourites. :) Thanks, auntnance. I do have more flamingo photos but far too many to share under this spotting. Though I'm sure I could add one or two more. :)
I'm still taken with this set of photos. Hope you have more flamingo pictures to post from your summer observations.
I LOVE the set of photos, especially 3. Would make a super picture, framed : )
I've been watching flamingoes all summer and autumn in the Rio Formosa Natural Park, close to where I live, and even though they should have migrated in September (October at the latest), they are still present and in quite large numbers, and with a large number of juveniles as well. The mild weather has them confused, I think, much like the rest of us! :)
Thanks. :) I love flamingos too, was so pleased to capture these before they walked away from me. Also have a small video of them feeding which I need to upload at some point.
Way cool! I love Flamingos :D Have only seen 'Greater' to now :)
Could be, but I couldn't tell properly. The sun wasn't long up and because the water was so still, the reflection of the light was making it hard to see. Definitely not a greater flamingo, though.
Lesser flamingo? (being whiter and the proximity to Africa)
