Description:

At first glance the small insect may resemble a moth but it is actually from the Hemiptera: Ricaniidae. Perhaps Ricania or Ricanula sp.

Habitat:

This spotting in a large semi-urban yard/garden adjacent to a disturbed patch of remnant forest.

I believe this family Ricaniidae, is always resting with wings open. Third or fourth species in this yard alone.
