Field Notes

Description:

The baboons and vervets at Nakuru Nat Park have no fear of man and will try to enter a vehicle parked in the lot while it's occupants register to enter. We had a female vervet with young baby enter the van while our driver was registering and had to shoo her out. The driver was chagrined, as she almost stole his lunch! At Samburu the baboons had a fear of us and would turn their backs and move away quickly when we tried to take pictures. We saw many locals picnicking near the entrance of Lake Nakuru offering food to baboons and vervets
