It is widely grown as an ornamental plant throughout the tropics and subtropics. The flowers are large, generally red in the original varieties, and firm, but generally lack any scent.

Welcome. I find that real Hibiscus is sourced from Central America and there is many real variety spread in their countries. In Asia (mainly India, Indonesia and China) Hibiscus is a commercial plant due to lot of demand in flowers market day to day.

I checked and find that Hibiscus rosa-sinensis is routed from China as commercial flowering plant their stigma is almost strait.

Hi not Rosa Sinensis.. Its Hibiscus genus plant flower.... Pure American..!!
hahaha.... almost all my spottings are from my garden or farm..

in India this flower is very common, I hv atlist 50 varities in my garden.
Rosa-sinensis or the Chinese hibiscus is the most common here in the region. We used to crush these and put in soapy solution for better bubble making :-)
