Field Notes

Notes:

Arctic Fox mother and her kits spotted at Shubenacadie Wildlife Park.
I was surprised when I saw the arctic foxes back in their park enclosure during my visit today (last time I was there working, they were still in the back of the park away from visitors), and even more surprised when I saw how much the kits had grown. :) I haven't seen them in about two months up until today. They frolicked excitedly as I watched them, and the most brave of the litter even approached me by the side of their pen (sadly, I only had my zoom lens so I couldn't photograph him). Such beautiful and fun creatures to watch, I very much hope to see one in the wild someday.

(The mother is the one in the last photo, by the way. Their fur is dark because they are currently in their summer coat, they would usually be a beautiful fluffy white; the perfect camouflage in their Arctic home)

Thank you, they are beautiful creatures. :) It was a pleasure seeing them again.
Beautiful animals and it is very touching to see how they have bonded with you.
I`m glad you enjoyed it. :) It`s definitely my favourite set of photos I took today.
