Field Notes

Description:

Brown fur with a combination of tones that blended in with the fallen leaves. The eastern cottontail has white fur on it's underside, it has large eyes, ears, and large hind legs.

Habitat:

The eastern cottontail can be found in open grassy areas, clearings, and fields with an abundance of grass and herbs, preferably with some form of shelter on the edges.

Notes:

Instead of bolting into the bushes at the first sound, I actually had a bit of a stare down with the rabbit. it finally took off once I started to continue on my way.
