Field Notes

Habitat:

Serengeti, Tanzania

Notes:

While we were watching this lioness she jumped down from the tree & attacked a herd of wildebeest, killing one right in front of us. Unfortunately the kill kicked up so much dust it was impossible to photograph. Bizarrely, once she had made the kill, the rest of the herd stayed & watched her eat (the final photo).

fantastic photos.....all my appreciation, Karen!
Just noted the new African Cat mission. Thanks Gosia!
This lioness was alone, but we did spot 3 more sleeping in a tree close by which I will post if I can find it!
Was she alone? where is her pride sisters?
I've added more photos to show the whole sequence of events.
