Field Notes

Description:

A sea bird found on northern coast and offshore island and coral cays in Australia's east. Body, tail and winds are a sooty black and head is capped with blended silver/white. the black eye is underlined with a crisp white arc. Size is around 35cm with a 12cm tail and wing extensive wing span of 65cm. nesting is a messay affair with plant material stuck together with excrta in low and higher branches where possible. Noddies feed offshore on small fish, plankton and other sea delicacies.

Habitat:

tropical islands and coast areas, coral cays.
