Description:

Not a brilliant couple of photos, I know, but I saw this bird in a shallow part of the river and thought I'd sneak a few photos. Just as I got into position, he flew off! Been ID'd as a black stork.

True, it doesn't have the red beak or legs like a black stork, unless it's a juvenile. I'm going to go out over the weekend and try to get more clear photos, if he's around. But thanks for the help with the ID. :)
Also the first picture shows the markings on the underside of the bird quite well, and they are the same as the field guides show for Black Stork.
This spotting is in the right area for Black Stork so maybe that's your bird?
It does from the photos, but we have a lot of storks here and it definitely wasn't one of them. Well, I won't say 'definitely', but I don't think it was. :)
