Field Notes

Description:

This is a very odd mushroom it has a translucent stem and is growing in the Withlachoochee river on a rock! I have never seen a mushroom growing in a river.

Habitat:

Growing on trees or dead wood, leaves, or sticks, or organic debris, often in moss

Here's a viewof the mushroom I suggested: http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/7094049/ The stem is different but I believe it may be the age of the mushroom. In your second photo the 'rock' looks a bit like deadwood which would make more sense for the pinwheel. Take all this with a grain of salt however, because we don't have a real perspective on the size of the mushroom.
I just found another photo I will put with this one.
It looks a bit like one of the pinwheel mushrooms, but the location doesn't really match.
