Field Notes

Description:

Spring Beauty is a small delicate pink and white woodland wildflower. It spreads through underground roots and is considered a perennial. The roots are tuber like (and apparently taste like potatoes when boiled - I haven't tried it).

Habitat:

This plant likes the wooded areas. It can do well in a variety of soil types but prefers moist to wet areas with rich loamy soil with plenty of organic matter and dappled sunlight.
