Field Notes

Description:

A small heron about the size of a Snowy Egret. The Little Blue Heron had a different hunting technique from the Snowy Egret it was hanging out with. The LBH would sway its head back and fourth and then strike. The Snowy wiggle their foot and try to stir up prey.

Habitat:

Marshlands

Notes:

Rare bird in Utah.
