Description:

Bugs often found floating or 'skating' on the top of calm, clear water, such as ponds and streams, where the water pools. Their entire body is covered with microhairs, which deflects the water.

Notes:

Also know as water striders, water bugs, magic bugs, pond skaters, skaters, skimmers, water scooters, water skaters, water skeeters, water skippers, water spiders, or Jesus bugs.
