Field Notes

Description:

Shrub growing up to 12 feet high and tall. Blooms are especially attractive to nectar seekers and pollinators, while birds eat the seed heads that appear later in the season.

Habitat:

Wetlands and other wet soils.

Notes:

This bush is blooming surprisingly late in the year for Central Florida. The blooms season for the others nearby was early June.
