All of these species were feeding on something in the bark cravaces at the base of this oak tree.

How intersting and unusual. I wonder if you should try to collect a little of the substance and get someone to tell you what it is. I have seen a Potter wasp on my oak tree here in FLorida, but never a cluster of different insects. It should make it easier to get a variety of pictures.
