Field Notes

Description:

mushroom without gills or pores, small brown bumps, tip opens and lets out spores when ripe. Flesh is entirely firm and white. About 4 in. high at largest.

Habitat:

On the ground in grass, temperate coastal rainforest

Notes:

These had been kicked over a couple of days previous; the area that a slug ate away on one of them was pure white when fresh.
