American Toad

Anaxyrus americanus

Comments (1)

A fowler's toad would have both paratoid glands fully touching the cranial crests. American toads only have one touching (which on this guy is the right one) and the other is connected to the crest by a thin line (the left gland). Then the number of dark spots per wart also tell this as being an American toad, they only have 1-2 dark spots, where as a fowler's toad would have 3+ dark spots per wart.
