it's a Western Spotted Orbweaver !!! yea !! found another creepy spider which led me to figuring out what this creepy spider was ! the other one I found was just a regular Spotted Orbweaver.
I don't know why a spider from Austrilia would be here, but I'll look it up. and to Heather, the white is on its body, also when they are younger & smaller, they have a lot of red on them. as the get older a lot of the red turns black. but the web spinning hole that you can see in my picture seems to stay red no matter the age or size. someone suggested a "cat-faced spider" but not even close. the bodies on the adult spiders are the size of a lagre man's thumb. they hang in webs spanning up to 4 feet with dozens of the same spiders in the webs together, just in their own little "spot". the webs are extremely thick & very sticky too
