Description:

Part of the Buprestidae. Approximately 4-5cm/1.5-2" in length. Most have iridescent colours, but not this one. Just plain black and white.

Notes:

Link is for Buprestidae family as I can't find any specific information for this species.

That's a start, Dan, thanks. I'll research into that tomorrow or over the weekend. Chris, there's a map to the right of the picture that shows you where it was spotted.
I can't help too much but I think it's a beetle in the Buprestidae family.
