Field Notes

Description:

Adults are about 1.5 inches long. The male (shown above) becomes pruinose as it matures (the bluish white, waxy covering). The female comes in two color phases; the first is a bluish phase that looks very much like a male before it becomes pruinose. Others are brownish.

Habitat:

Found along pond shorelines. Often found perching on the ground or a low rock.
