Field Notes

Description:

Red Bellied Woodpecker

Habitat:

Wooded area next to home

Notes:

I spotted this bird the same day as seeing a Pileated, which I posted earlier. This Red Bellied was reasonably large...I am estimating over 12 inches long. Some of the pics are blurring as it was moving quite a bit and pecking. It flew away just after I grabbed these few shots.
