Description:
The American bison is a large mammal with a shaggy dark brown winter coat and a lighter summer coat. I was able to spot several free roaming at the refuge. Male bison are significantly larger and heavier than females.
Habitat:
Spotted in a mixed grass prairie at the Wichita Mountains National Wildlife Refuge in Oklahoma.
