Field Notes

Description:

These small birds were flitting around, hard to catch them when they were still. Haven't identified them as yet, seem to be a male and a couple of females, I'm assuming the male has the blue tail feathers

Habitat:

light woodland area within a eucalyptus forest

Notes:

The males are in eclipse

ok I'm about to post another bird, I'm going to time you on it
That's actually my photo in the link. We have dozens around our house, so I'm very familiar with them. I just saw my first male in breeding plumage last week.
Two female Superb fairy wrens. The males in eclipse look like the females but don't have the rust colored flesh around the eyes. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Malurus_cyaneus_cyaneus_female.jpg
