Field Notes

Description:

The Joker or Spotted Joker (Byblia ilithyia) is a species of nymphalid butterfly found in parts of Africa and Asia. It flies close to the ground and I often saw it in the grass and bushes beside roads and paths.

Habitat:

stop on the way to Bwindi.
We stopped the car beside the road after going over a bridge. There was a marshy area beside the river and this butterfly was mud-puddling there.
